Speed Mentoring Opportunity Offered by Junior Faculty Guidance and Mentoring Committee

The SOM Junior Faculty Guidance and Mentoring Committee is hosting their 2nd Speed Mentoring Event on September 29th from 3:30-4:30 pm. The success of the first one, held in April, led to scheduling of the upcoming event. During Speed Mentoring, junior faculty have an opportunity to earn CME credit while meeting senior faculty who may share similar career or academic interests.

The SOM Junior Faculty Guidance and Mentoring Committee aims to focus on the career development of junior faculty by supporting their academic success and advancement. We have opportunities for individual mentoring as well as a speed mentoring activity.

Faculty can participate in the formal mentoring program by completing an application online. Junior faculty are paired with two or three mentors with expertise complementary to their needs. The formal mentoring relationship lasts for one year, with flexibility in meeting frequency and structure.
