Bio
Albert Charles Rees, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Family Practice Residency Program based at University Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Dr. Rees graduated from LSU School of Medicine in 1964. He completed a General Practice Residency in Lafayette, after which he entered private practice in 1970. In 1971, he became a charter Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.
In 1997, the Department of Family Medicine's Family Practice Residency Program moved into its current Family Practice Center, a site donated to the state by Lafayette's two largest private hospitals. In 1998, Dr. Rees was appointed by the LSUHSC School of Medicine as the Ardoin/Pfizer Professor of Family Medicine. Since 1999, he has remained full-time for LSU, working for the Residency Program and the Pre-Doctoral Division of the School of Medicine's Department of Family Medicine. His academic interests include nutrition, substance abuse, and disorders of the skin.
