New Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Institutional Affairs Announced
Susan Raine, MD, JD, LLM, MEd, will serve as the next Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Institutional Affairs, with an anticipated start date in the summer.
Dr. Raine is a general Obstetrician-Gynecologist and tenured professor at Baylor College of Medicine, where she has been a faculty member since 2005. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor. Her additional training includes a JD from the University of Texas School of Law, an LLM in Health Law and Policy from the University of Houston Law Center, and a Master of Education in Curriculum Design from the University of Houston.
Over the course of her career at Baylor, Dr. Raine has held multiple leadership roles, including Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of Education, Vice Chair of Global Health, and Director of Faculty Development. She led Baylor's global women's health initiative in Malawi, working with local and international partners to establish the country's first postgraduate training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Raine currently serves as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development at Baylor College of Medicine. In this role, she oversees faculty appointments and promotions and leads institutional efforts in faculty career development and professional advancement. She also directs the Baylor College of Medicine MD/JD Dual Degree Program.
