About me:
I was born and raised in India and completed a Bachelors degree in Zoology from Ethiraj
College, Madras University. I came to New Orleans in 2007 to pursue a Masters degree
in Neuroscience from Tulane University upon the completion of which I joined the Inter
Disciplinary program at LSUHSC in 2008. After rotating through various labs, I joined
Dr Hollenbach's lab in the Department of Genetics. My current project includes determining
the biological activity of the transcription factor Pax3 and its role in muscle and
skin cancer.
Primary Research Interest:
The role of phosphorylation of Pax3 in melanoma development and progression of Melanoma
Why Genetics?
I had a great Genetics professor in undergrad and I never paid attention to anyone
else!
My Career Goal:
I am interested in translational research and hope to ultimately develop a career
in the biomedical and pharmaceutical industry.

I will most definitely attend seminars if there is free food.
