About me:
Born in Boston and raised in southern California, I attended UCLA as an undergraduate.
My interest in research began as a lab assistant with the UCLA Center on Memory and
Aging. I determined patient eligibility for clinical trials and performed volumetric
analyses on structural brain MRIs. After graduating I continued to do research and
performed PET image analysis at the UCLA Wright Membrane Transport Laboratory. Before
moving to New Orleans for medical school, I volunteered at the UCSF Memory and Aging
Center where I continued to hone skills in brain image analysis.
Primary Research Interest:
The aim of my project is to elucidate the role of DNA mismatch repair proteins in
trinucleotide repeat expansion using a human cellular model of Friedreich ataxia.
My Career Goal:
I am strongly committed to a career in academic medicine. I plan to pursue Neurology
and hope to be an active, contributing physician-scientist.
What makes me unique: DNA
What makes me typical: Loving New Orleans
