Deniz Ucar is a post-doctoral researcher in Dr. Lucio Miele's lab. Deniz was a veterinarian in Istanbul, Turkey before coming to the United States and obtaining her masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Florida at Gainesville. Her current project is focused on the identification of pharmacological targets that will abrogate or silence Notch signaling in the cancer stem cell population in triple negative breast cancer. Her goal is to become an independent researcher who will combine her clinical and basic research experiences to contribute to the fight against cancer.
