About me:
I began the PhD program in Genetics at LSUHSC in August of 2011. In addition to first
year coursework, I have been working in laboratory rotations within the Genetics Department. I
moved to New Orleans from my hometown of Spokane, Washington. I received my Bachelors
of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry with a focus on Biotechnology from Eastern
Washington University, with honors, in 2005. After graduation I completed a year of
on the job cytogenetic training and in 2008 became a certified Cytogeneticist. I used
this certification in Cytogenetics and Microarray laboratories before deciding to
pursue a PhD at LSUHSC.
