About Me:
I came to New Orleans in 2009 to begin this 7/8-year program. Prior to New Orleans,
I lived in Washington, DC and worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda,
MD. My interests range from medicine and science to current issues in politics and
economics. I am currently serving as the student editor of The New Physician magazine published by the American Medical Student Association. In my free
time, I like enjoying NOLA, reading, fishing, hiking, playing tennis, spending time
with my family and my dog Gus, and generally anything that I can do outside.
Primary Research Interest:
I am interested in prostate cancer, and the role of ARD1 in Androgen Receptor acetylation.
Broadly, I am interested in cancer genetics and working to transition a cancer diagnosis
from a nightmare to a treatable illness.
Why Genetics?
I chose genetics because I think it will play an important role in how we treat diseases
in the future.
My Career Goal:
Graduate first. Then it may get complicated…
What makes me unique:
I live in the shellfish capitol of the world and I cannot have any because I am allergic.
What makes me typical:
I drink a lot of coffee.
