About me: I was born and raised in Mumbai, India. Both my undergrad and masters education were in Biochemistry. Since I have always been fascinated by Genetics, I decided to pursue further studies and carry on research in Genetics. After rotating through different labs in the Genetics Dept I joined Dr. Crabtree's lab where I work on the role of mircroRNAs in pancreatic beta cell expansion. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, listening to music and watching movies.
Primary Research Interest:
My work focuses on trying to understand the role of microRNAs in regulating the Multiple
endocrine neoplasia type I (MEN1) gene and its role in pancreatic beta cell expansion.
Career Goal?
To continue research on endocrine diseases and be able to make significant contributions
to this field. I also intend to teach sometime in the future.
