Biostatistical Support

Biostatistics Core

The Biostatistics, Study Design, and Data Science Core was developed to provide collaborative biostatistics expertise. Their mission is to help researchers plan studies & grants, while executing data analyses. They also have a core mission of leveraging electronic health record data (EHR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help researchers go after grants, help clinicians treat patients, and position LSUHSC as a leader in healthcare/research informatics.

Biostatistical Support for Resident and Fellow Research

Biostatistical support for residents' or fellows' research projects can be requested by contacting Dr. Wayne L. Backes at SOM Research. This service is limited to up to 10 hours of biostatistical support.

LACaTS Biostatistics Support

The LACaTS Biostatistics and Epidemiology Core helps support investigators with statistical design and data analysis of research projects. This Core primarily works with early-career investigators who require statistical assistance for projects, which are necessary for grant preparation and submission, or for publication of their research data in peer-reviewed journals.

Independent Faculty Research

Additional biostatistical support is available through the School of Public Health School of Public Health Consultation Services. Prior to consultation, a funding mechanism needs to be identified.
