CURRICULUM
Rotations at the Family Medicine Residency Program at Lake Charles are designed to provide
comprehensive training to the resident-physician in all medical components necessary to fulfill
the broad medical specialty of Family Medicine.
To comply with the guidelines of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and
to meet the requirements listed in the Special Requirements for Family Medicine Residents, the
following rotations have been implemented for the LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program
at Lake Charles:

Resident-Physicians see their continuity-of-care patients at the Memorial / LSUHSC Family
Medicine Center located within steps of our sponsoring facility, Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Residents see their panel of patients on the following schedule:
PGY1 - 1 half-day per week,
PGY2 - 2 half-days per week, and
PGY3 - 2 half-days per week with some rotations allowing for 1 additional half-day.

The LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program at Lake Charles offers an excellent salary and benefits package:

Salary $53,270
Annual Leave 3 weeks
CME Days 2 days
CME/Travel/Book Allowance $1,000/yr
PGY2:
Salary $55,056
Annual Leave 4 weeks
