Marcus Brown, Licensing Associate, Office of Innovation & Partnerships
Dr. Michael Dunham, MD, Professor and Section Head of Pediatric Otolaryngology, presented
his groundbreaking innovation, Eyes-On, at BIO on the Bayou 2025, the Gulf South’s premier biotech event held October 28–29
in New Orleans. The conference brings together researchers, startups, and investors
to accelerate biotech breakthroughs and foster collaboration across life sciences,
medtech, and healthcare sectors.
Eyes-On is a personalized, AI-enabled computer vision system designed to monitor technology-dependent children in real time. The system leverages advanced image processing and machine learning to detect critical changes in a child’s condition—such as respiratory distress or dislodged medical devices—and alerts caregivers immediately. This innovation aims to enhance safety and reduce response time in home and clinical settings, offering a transformative solution for pediatric care.
