Library Launching LSU Health Digital Scholar

David Trillo, MSLS, Scholarly Communication Librarian, LSUHSC-New Orleans Library

LSUHSC Libraries announces the launch of LSU Health Digital Scholar, our new institutional repository. This innovative platform is dedicated to spotlighting and preserving the wealth of research and scholarly output that defines our vibrant academic community.

LSU Health Digital Scholar is a service of the LSU Health Sciences Center Libraries. Research and scholarly output included here has been selected and deposited by the Libraries. Through this platform, we aim to showcase, preserve, and share the diverse and impactful research produced by our faculty, students, departments, and centers on campus.

Here are a few key features of LSU Health Digital Scholar:

  • Faculty publications: View publications from our faculty members, highlighting the cutting-edge research that is produced in each of our schools and departments.
  • Special Collections: In this collection, we are presenting publications associated with the campus that include catalogs, bulletins, and graduation programs that date back to 1933.
  • Research Days: Explore the posters of LSUHSC's Research Days by accessing a dedicated space that features the innovative research presented during these collaborative events.
  • Campus Art Collection: This collection consists of almost 80 images of portraits and photographs of faculty and campus art.
  • Journals: LSU Health Digital Scholar will be a hosting platform for journals that represent our campus and community. Our first journal that we are hosting is the Louisiana Journal of Counseling. This journal is hosted by LSUHSC New Orleans Libraries with the support of the Dean of the School of Allied Health Professions as a service to health professionals in the State of Louisiana.

Why LSU Health Digital Scholar Matters:

  • Visibility: Make LSUHSC's research and researchers more visible on a global scale through Search Engine Optimization, which will lead to more collaboration and recognition.
  • Preservation: Ensure the long-term preservation of the intellectual legacy of LSUHSC, safeguarding the institution's contributions to academia for generations to come.
  • Access: Embrace the spirit of open access, making a wealth of knowledge available to all and promoting collaboration within and beyond the LSUHSC community.

Please reach out to our librarians with any questions about this new and exciting service!
