Biostatistical Support at LSUHSC

There are three potential mechanisms for Biostatistical support - (1) LACaTS, (2) Resident and Fellow Research, and (3) Independent Faculty Research.  Additional information can be found through the School of Public Health Consultation Services

  1. LACaTS Biostatistics Support - The LACaTS Biostatistics and Epidemiology Core helps support investigators with statistical design and data analysis of research projects. This Core primarily works with early-career investigators who require statistical assistance for projects, which are necessary for grant preparation and submission, or for publication of their research data in peer-reviewed journals.

  1. Biostatistical Support for Resident and Fellow Research - Dean Nelson has provided limited funding for biostatistical support for residents' or fellows' research projects.  Requests for up to 10 hours of biostatistical support can be requested by contacting Dr. Wayne L. Backes at SOM Research.

  1. Independent Faculty Research - As the biostatistical needs of faculty are varied, there are a number of different approaches to be considered.  Prior to contacting the School of Public Health for biostatistical support, a funding mechanism needs to be identified.  There are several ways that this can be arranged.
