Faculty Assembly President 2019-2020
Report from the February Faculty Assembly:
- Nominations for faculty assembly awards have been received. These awards will be given during the general faculty meeting on April 29th at noon (lunch provided). Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Outstanding Junior Faculty Member
- Outstanding Service to the Institution
- Outstanding Mentor
- Outstanding Service to the Community
- Match Day is March 20th. The location this year has been changed to the Convention Center.
- New Faculty Orientation will be April 21st.
- Workshops for academic promotions have been announced. The dates are March 12, 16, 18 and April 2 & 15. (Please see Dr. Richard DiCarlo's email for details.)
- Department chair searches for internal medicine, psychiatry and anesthesia are in progress.
- Outside consultants will be invited to help in improving the management of LSU Health clinics.
- Construction updates were discussed. If animals need to be moved, LCRC still has space, but will need to be moved ASAP.
- UMC will start building another parking garage later this year.
- No training program at LSUSOM is on probation or warning from ACGME.
