AWIS Update

The Southern Louisiana Chapter of the Association for Women in Science held a holiday party on December 12 at the home of chapter president Carmen Canavier. Chapter members collected gifts for five children and two seniors under the Salvation Army's Angels, Adopt a Family, and Mr. Bingle senior programs. The gifts were displayed at the party.
The chapter has an ongoing program to collect donations of travel toiletries and reading material for the Rebuild Center. Collection boxes are located outside MEB 6134 and 7223. The chapter's next planned activity is mock job interviews for graduate students and postdocs.
