SOM ACHIEVEMENTS AWARDS AND HONORS

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology:

For the second consecutive year, Dr. Sabyasachi Chatterjee has received the prestigious Abstract Achievement Award from the American Society of Hematology at their annual meeting. Dr. Chatterjee is a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Rinku Majumder, Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His abstract appeared in the November 13th edition of Blood. Dr. Chatterjee used a series of biochemical and biophysical methods to determine the binding between Protein S and FIXa for the first time. This discovery opens an opportunity in directing future drug design to regulate this interaction and prevent different clotting disorders.
