Research Café Returns

The School of Medicine re-introduced Research Café earlier this year in a revised structure with expanded content. Established SOM researchers present recurring sessions that follow a sequential presentation of material. Research Cafés are held on the second Tuesday of every month.

The workshops, classes, and seminars are meant to provide a comprehensive overview of the basics involved in the research process, encompassing approaches to leverage institutional resources and explore extramural funding opportunities. Topics include preparing biosketches, grant proposal strategies, completing applications, and identifying funding sources for research.

“We are prioritizing growth of research in our school, and Research Cafés are one way we can support our researchers as they compete for funding,” said Senior Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Patricia Molina. “With the current federal funding landscape and multiple moving parts, it is more important than ever to equip our investigators with every tool we can by supporting existing investigators and recruiting new talent to grow the research enterprise. We hope everyone who can attend will join us.”
