Resident Rotation Schedule

 

PGY1 (Intern):

  • 6 months of ENT
    • 3 months of Head and Neck (Our Lady of the Lake & LSU Health)
    • 2 weeks of Otology/Neurotology (Our Lady of the Lake)
    • 5 weeks of Rhinology & Laryngology (Our Lady of the Lake)
    • 5 weeks of Pediatric Otolaryngology (Children's Hospital of New Orleans)
  • 1 month of Vascular Surgery (Our Lady of the Lake)
  • 1 month of Pediatric Surgery (Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital)
  • 2 months of General Surgery (Lafayette General Medical Center)
  • 1 month of Anesthesia (Lafayette General Medical Center)
  • 1 month of ICU/Critical Care (Lafayette General Medical Center)

PGY2:

Baton Rouge (6 months)

  • 3 months of Head and Neck (Our Lady of the Lake)
  • 3 months of Laryngology (Our Lady of the Lake)

New Orleans (6 months)

  • 3 months of Pediatric Otolaryngology (Children's Hospital of New Orleans)
  • 3 months at University Medical Center

PGY3:

Baton Rouge

  • 3 months at LSU Health
  • 3 months of Rhinology (Our Lady of the Lake)

Lafayette

  • 3 months at University Hospital and Clinics

Research

  • 3 months of dedicated research

PGY4:

Baton Rouge

  • 3 months of Head and Neck (Our Lady of the Lake)
  • 3 months of Otology (Our Lady of the Lake)
  • 3 months of Pediatric Otolaryngology (Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital)

Lafayette

  • 3 months at University Hospital and Clinics

PGY5:

Baton Rouge

  • 3 months at LSU Health
  • 3 months of Facial Plastics (Our Lady of the Lake)

Lafayette

  • 3 months at University Hospital and Clinics

New Orleans

  • 3 months at University Medical Center

 

Call Responsibilities

 

*All home-based call

Baton Rouge: Cover Our Lady of the Lake

Lafayette: Cover UHC

New Orleans:

Weekdays:

*We make sure when you are on call at UMC, you are also on call at CHNOLA, so you end up taking a total of 4 call weekends during a 3-month block while in New Orleans
