LSU General Surgery

WELCOME: 

We appreciate your interest in the General Surgery Residency at LSU Health Science Center.

Our program offers a wide variety of high volume experience in various different clinical settings. Trainees rotate through a level 1 tertiary care center, private hospitals, and the VA. Given our  location in the southeast lousiana trainees experience a large variety of pathology and have graduated in the top 94th percentile per case volume. 

HOW TO APPLY

Applications for residency will only be accepted throught the ERAS Service (http://www.aamc.org/audienceeras.htm).

All applications are screened by a Review Committe and interviews are by invitation only.

Deadline for submission of completed applications is November 1.

Complete applications through ERAS should include:

  • Application form
  • Scanned photograph
  • Dean's letter
  • 3 additional letters of recommendation
  • Official Medical School transcripts
  • USMLE scores sent from the NBME
  • Personal statement

All applications are screened by a Review Committee. Iterviews are by invitation only.
